David Buchanan (b)  (m) Margaret Nasmith.


Buchanan of Auchmar traces the origin of the Clan to Anselan O'Ryan, son of a king of Ulster, who landed,  in Argull about the year 1016. For his services, against the Danes, so it is said, he recieved from King Malcolm II the lands of Buchanan lying to the east of Loch Lomond.
Archibald Buchanan (b) 5 May 1840 in Glasgow (m) Flora Walker at Mt Beckworth (b) 12 July 1848 in Portland Victoria. Archibald (d) 23 March 1903 Flora (d) 1928, both are buried in the Boort Cementary.
